Information on Parent Consultations and Reports

Parents' Meetings, Reports and Termly Newsletters

We aim to make sure that parents and carers have the information they need in order to help their children. To help achieve this we have developed the following system of parents' meetings, reports and termly newsletters:-

AUTUMN TERM
During term 1 we hold a ‘Meet the teacher’ event, when parents and carers are invited to come into school to visit their child’s new classroom and to find out about the year ahead.

During Term 2 we hold individual parent consultations to inform you of the progress your child is making and how he or she has settled into their new class.

SPRING TERM
During term 4 a second individual parent consultation will be held when you will have a chance to look at your child's work and discuss his or her progress with the class teacher.

SUMMER TERM
During Term 6 a written report will be sent home and parents are offered the opportunity to discuss it in more detail if they wish. The written report will inform parents and carers or their child’s progress in all areas of the curriculum. For Year 2 and Year 6 parents this will also contain the results of their child’s overall end of Key Stage 1 or Key Stage 2 attainment in English, Mathematics and Science (SATs).

An open afternoon is also held towards the end of each term when parents and carers can come into school to look at your child’s work.

Finally, during Term 6, parents of children transferring into or starting in our Reception classes are invited to come into school to meet their child’s new class teacher and Key Worker.

TERMLY NEWSLETTERS
Each term your child's teacher will send home a newsletter outlining the work that will be covered. There will also be suggestions of ways that you may be able to help at home.
